ODEMWINGIE WANTS TO PLAY FOR NIGERIA

Odemwingie has been left out of the Super Eagles since February 2012,after he fell out with coach Stephen Keshi and also the Nigerian Football Federation(NFF),taking to the social media,Twitter, to vent his anger.

“ I would like to play international football again of course, if my country calls on me I will go and help them, I can never say no to my country,” Odemwingie said on the BBC while acting as a pundit in Nigeria’s game against Tahiti in the FIFA Confederations Cup.

The West Brom attacker also had a problem with his club,after he failed to secure a move away from the club in January,to join Queens Park Rangers.

But Odemwingie who was frozen out of West Brom’s team,before making substitute appearances,said that he would likely leave the midlands club in search of regular football.

“I thought things could be done easier, there was a new manager who came in and it didn’t go in my favour. I was moved out of my position. I made my name by scoring goals.”

“It looks like I will leave the Hawthorns. We are talking now – but where I’ll end up I don’t know,” Odemwingie said.

“I want playing time. Even if it is a team that is not so good, from the Championship – I will go” there as I just want to play.”

SENATOR OLUREMI TINUBU WANTS TO BE VICE PRESIDENT

Wife of a former Governor Bola Tinubu and current senator, Oluremi Tinubu has stated that she had no intention to be governor of Lagos state, but hinted at a desire to be the Vice-President

Tinubu, who spoke on Saturday at a press briefing on her ‘Two years of representation at the Senate’, said governing Lagos State was not for the “tender-hearted”.

The Senator is the wife of former governor of the state, Bola Tinubu.

She said, “Truly, it is never my ambition to run for the governor of Lagos State. My husband did it for eight years and I was not an outsider to it. It is not a job for the tender hearted. It is a lot of work to govern Lagos. I don’t think I have the strength to govern the present state of Lagos.

“There is still a lot of work to be done for Lagos; it’s not a child’s play. I don’t have such ambition. Maybe, I can be the Vice-President, not the governor.”

She said her primary concern was to ensure that the poverty in society and the rot in the system was reduced.

She said, “My concern is for the young and the old. What kind of Nigeria do we want to leave for the younger ones? A good parent will always want leave an inheritance for the children. What kind of inheritance or legacy do we want to leave for our children?”

This, she said, was the motivation behind the two bills she sponsored, with one of them seeking social security for the elderly and the other seeking to expunge part of the Labour Act that prevents women from taking certain jobs.

Tinubu said both bills had passed through second reading at the Senate, adding that she was working with other Lagos State senators to achieve a special status for the state.

She added, “On my part, I have sponsored two bills aimed at providing social security for Nigeria’s elderly citizens and amending sections of the Labour Act, which restricts employment opportunities for women all of which have passed the second reading.

“I am currently working with other senators on a third bill aimed at providing special economic assistance to Lagos.”

The little girl arrived a few weeks early.the child - who was born 5 weeks premature - was placed under an ULTRAVIOLET LIGHT and in an incubator moments after she was born. Doctors also pumped oxygen to assist in her breathing.
But the baby is doing MUCH better now. i have found that the little girl is now OUT of the incubator, breathing air on her own, and sleeping in a crib next to her mother and father.
